Welcome to Cleaners In Sydney. By accessing or using cleanersinsydney.com.au or our mobile app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Read them carefully. If you don't agree, don't use the platform.
1. The marketplace
We operate a two-sided marketplace connecting Sydney customers with independent cleaning professionals. We are not the cleaner — we introduce you to them. Cleaners are independent contractors, not our employees.
2. Accounts
You must be 18+ to use the platform. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Don't share your account. One person, one account.
3. Bookings and payments
When you book, your payment is held in escrow by our payment processor (Stripe). Funds release to the cleaner 24 hours after job completion unless a dispute is raised. We charge cleaners a flat 12% commission. Customers pay no booking fee.
4. Cancellations and refunds
Customers: cancel up to 24 hours before your booking with zero penalty. Within 24 hours, 20% may be retained by the cleaner for time held. Cleaners: cancelling within 24 hours of a booking may impact your rating.
5. Our guarantee
If you're not satisfied with a completed clean, tell us within 24 hours. We'll send another cleaner to fix it free. If that fails, a full refund. Terms apply — see our Refund Policy.
6. Your conduct
Don't harass cleaners or customers. Don't post false reviews. Don't attempt to book through the platform and then settle off-platform to avoid fees. Doing these things will get your account closed and you may be liable for damages.
7. Our conduct
We'll keep the platform running. We'll verify every cleaner. We'll respond to support tickets promptly. We reserve the right to remove listings, reviews, or accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Liability
The platform is provided “as is”. We're not liable for the quality of work performed by cleaners (that's what insurance is for — $20M public liability on every job). We're not liable for indirect damages like lost wages or missed events.
9. Disputes
Most disputes resolve through our support team. If they can't, disputes are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and resolved in NSW courts.
10. Changes to these Terms
We update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we'll email you 30 days before they take effect. Continued use means you accept the updates.
